The Solution

One of the biggest issues for the F1 teams at the Monaco Grand Prix is the lack of practical space for them to work. Tectonics UK were approached by our client Red Max to come up with a solution. There is an area behind the temporary pit garages, where some teams were already using basic popup marquees, and this was deemed as the only possible available space.

It was obvious from the start that this was going to be no small challenge. Behind the garages and stretching the full length of the start / finish straight were not only an avenue of trees, but also large permanent boxes housing the electrics for the teams. Our brief was to design and manufacture a series of awnings to include a flat level flooring system incorporating the boxes and the trees.  Hopefully the photos speak for themselves.
